EBONI YAHUDAH, Owner and Principal Designer of Be Light Media LLC (Woman Owned, and Black Owned and Operated), a full service digital agency whose mission is to offer web and communications support to other small business owners, artists, and social entrepreneurs.
Eboni is a content creator and designer who finds pride in the work she has done with community organizations such as The National Great Blacks In Wax Museum, Arch Social Club, Black Yield Institute, Son of a Dream, and Wake Up & Rise Up Sistahs (WURUS).
In 2010 she founded Lantern Mindsets, a network of individuals and organizations that are lights and resources to our communities. The network produces and promotes events and learning opportunities.
Eboni spent 10 years working in quality assurance and information systems for companies committed to developing medication and surgical equipment to aid epilepsy and cancer patients. Eboni decided to pivot her career to the social impact sector in 2016 with an internship in the Community Wealth Building department at Strong City Baltimore.
In 2018 following her internship, Eboni became an alumna of Baltimore Corps Fellowship’s fourth cohort. During her placement at Baltimore City Public Schools Office of Communications, Eboni worked closely with the Office of Family and Community Engagement to develop content and collateral for the community conversations with Dr. Sonja Santelises. Eboni also had the privilege of working with Baltimore City School Police to produce collateral for their summer programs.
Following her fellowship year, Eboni was hired at Baltimore Corps. In a matter of two years, Eboni was promoted to Director of Technology, Media and Communications, where she led her department in strategy and execution until her departure from the organization.
She has served on the planning committee for the Baltimore Rhythm Festival (Baltimore’s International Music Festival) since 2015. She currently serves as one of the festival’s core team members, her tasks include, but are not limited to the development of social media campaign and strategy, website design and management, correspondence with partners and sponsors, network email correspondence and design of branded collateral.
In 2018, she served on Greenmount West Community Association’s board as the Correspondence Secretary where she helped to revamp the community newsletter, managed the social media platforms as well as website updates and engagement. In 2016, she joined Urban Foli Djembe Orchestra Performing Arts’ board as the Vice President and COO where she supported their fundraising strategy and their efforts to establish 501c3 status. This resulted in the organization receiving 501c3 approval just after the organization’s CEO was awarded an OSI Fellowship.
Eboni continues to serve on numerous boards and committees where she utilizes her communication and technology skills to increase the capacity of the organizations where she serves.
