MICHELLE STAFFORD, is a native Baltimorian who is passionate about bringing wellness to the Community. Locally known as Divayogi, Michelle has been teaching yoga since 2004. After seeing a huge underrepresentation of African Americans in the yoga community, Michelle founded the Be More Yoga Community as a way to make yoga and wellness related events accessible to people of all backgrounds within Baltimore and around the globe. She believes that yoga can be used as a tool to empower the practitioner to heal oneself from the effects that chronic stress and trauma can have on the brain and body.

Michelle has also worked with City Weeds and Be More Green to fight food waste and bring food sovereignty to the city of Baltimore. She is the former Wellness Director for The Living Well Center. She has worked with local organizations such as No Boundaries Coalition, UMAR Boxing Program, The Black Maryland Veg Society, Bikemore, Black People Ride Bikes, Neighbors Without Walls, Terra Loft Consulting, STAR: Sisters Together and Reaching, The University of Maryland Medical School, Creative Nomads, Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore Health Department, SAHMSA : Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services, The Freedom School (Rev. Heber Brown), Heal-A-Sista, and more.
